OUR PHILOSOPHY

OUR SUSTAINABLE COMMITMENT

We believe what we wear reflects our values, so we weave thoughtful design in every product we make and consistently take action to improve our supply chain.

We call our approach Progressive Sustainability—a long-term commitment that aims to increase our impact rather than promise perfection. These are the steps we’re taking.

Our Eco-Gentle Materials

We don’t use polyesters in clothing, and we never will. Instead, we’re committed to natural and sustainably sourced fibers—they are gentler on the planet and on you. Our eco-gentle materials include viscose and cotton, which are often coloured using natural, azo-free dyes.

We understand that sustainability is not just about using plastic-free materials, but also about how we conserve our natural resources. To lower our impact, we plan to eventually eliminate cotton and focus on LIVA, a better viscose-based fabric delivered through an accredited value chain by Aditya Birla Grasim.

Locally Made With Love

All our materials and products are lovingly sourced, designed and made in India, where sustainability is the standard rather than the alternative. By ‘all’, we mean everything—down to threads and tags we use! Local production allows us to support the Indian economy, reduce our carbon footprint, and keep close ties with our people.

From age-old handblock prints to modern embroidery techniques, our collections celebrate the rich Indian aesthetic—designed to look stylish then, today, and for all tomorrows to come.

Crafted in Small Batches

Every season, excess inventory and one-wear garments fill our lands to the brim, impacting the health of our lands, oceans, and ecosystems. It’s our belief that clothing should be made to last in your wardrobe—not in landfills.

A smaller production allows us to learn more about the kind of designs you love and create them with time and care. Plus, with limited runs, your beloved Ribion garments are worthier to collect and rarer to find.

Plastic-Free Packaging

Plastic packaging can take anywhere from 20 to 500 years to decompose—an alarming consequence for barely used items. That’s why we’ve eliminated plastic from our packaging from the beginning. Unless we anticipate conditions (e.g. weather) that require plastic-based courier protection, your orders should be wrapped in paper and secured with locally sourced envelopes, tags, and bamboo threads.
